WHO CAN USE THE PROGRAM?

Everyone from Jackfish, Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Rossport, Pays Plat, and Marathon.  People of all ages are welcome to use the service.  Please note that minors must be accompanied by an adult.

I HEARD THAT IT’S FREE.  IS THAT RIGHT?

No, that is incorrect.  This is a fee-for-service program with initial start-up funding by the Ontario Provincial Government.  Once started, the program has to be self-sustaining.  In other words, if the program is to continue it must continue on fees from the ridership.

WHAT WILL IT COST ME?

Riders who have a need to get to Thunder Bay, or Marathon for health services will pay for each round trip according to the following fee schedule:

Terrace Bay to Thunder Bay       $ 160.00

Terrace Bay to Marathon            $   75.00

Marathon to Thunder Bay        $   310.00

WHAT IF I NEED MY SPOUSE OR SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP ME?  DO THEY HAVE TO PAY TOO?

No.  If an assistant is required, they may accompany you at no additional cost.

WILL THE DRIVER HELP ME?

The Driver will assist if necessary but all riders must be able to get in and out of the vehicle on their own.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO STAY OVER IN THUNDER BAY. DO I HAVE TO PAY AGAIN TO GET A RIDE HOME?

No. If we brought you to Thunder Bay then we will bring you back for no additional charge.

WILL I BE ABLE TO USE THIS SERVICE TO GET MY EYES TESTED?

This service is for anyone who needs a ride for health reasons.  The person can be going up for dentures, glasses, to see a doctor or some other health related therapist.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?  WILL I GET MY MONEY BACK?

All cancelations have to be, at least, 1 working day in advance (excludes Saturday, Sunday, and holidays).

WILL YOU COME BACK AND PICK ME UP IF I HAVE TO STAY OVER?

Yes, at no extra charge.

WILL YOU TAKE ME TO THE HEALTH CARE PROVIDER’S OFFICE OR DO I HAVE TO TAKE A BUS OR TAXI FROM A DROP OFF POINT?

We will take you directly to your doctor’s office and pick you up there as well.

IS THE SERVICE AVAILABLE ON WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS?

The service is available seven days a week.  For evening or early morning appointments, it will be necessary for you to stay overnight at your own expense.  We will take you in the day before your appointment and pick you up the following day at a pre-arranged time and place.
