- Open Messages
- Find the green icon with a speech bubble.
- Tap it once to open.

- Tap the square-and-pencil button (usually top-right corner).
- In the βTo:β box, type your own phone number or the name of a contact.

- Tap in the message box at the bottom.
- Type: βHello, this is my first text.β
- Tap the blue arrow to send.

- Add an Emoji
- Tap the smiley face icon on the keyboard.
- Choose any emoji (π, β€οΈ, π).
- Tap the blue arrow to send.

- Tap the camera icon next to the text box.
- Choose βTake Photoβ or βPhoto Library.β
- Select a picture and tap Send.

- When you receive a reply, tap the conversation to open it.

- If itβs blue β you sent it. If itβs gray β they sent it.
